What's SUP

Stand-Up Paddleboarding, known by many by its acronym "SUP", is a fun, family-friendly water activity that is enjoyed by beginners and veterans alike. Owing largely to its easy learning curve, SUP is an engaging and exciting outdoor activity that combines beautiful days on the water with moderate physical exercise. It's a win/win!

SUP Monkey provides inflatable boards (iSUPs) by Red Paddle Co. for rent. These durable yet lightweight paddleboards (along with accessories) are available for rent on an hourly basis. Simply call (902) 579-7787 (7SUP) to make an appointment or email us:

Lake Banook

Lake Banook is named for the Mi'kmaq phrase for "first lake", as it is the first lake in the system that later became the Shubenacadie Canal.

Lake Banook also has a claim as the birthplace of hockey: hockey was played on Lake Banook as early as 1827, and certainly by 1850, though the game was then known as both rickets and wicket.
